THE MAGNUMASTER FAMILY

A unique combination of mechanics, aesthetics and functionality – developed and manufactured in the Sturm Creative Workshop in Weerberg, Tyrol – has been delighting wine lovers all over the world for many years. Made in Austria with <3

3 Models allow for flexibility when it comes to bottle sizes:

MM Large (0.75 litre to 6 litre (incl. adapter))
MM XL (3 litre to 18 litre (incl. adapter))
MM XXL (5 litre to 28 litre (World Debut!))

WINE TASTES MORE HARMONIOUS FROM LARGE BOTTLES

Wine matures more harmoniously in large bottles. As the size of a bottle increases, its air to liquid ratio decreases – reducing this ratio improves and refines the ageing process, to the delight of wine connoisseurs. The ageing process in large bottles takes longer and is more subtle than in ordinary bottles. The MagnuMaster is available in two sizes: the model L for bottles up to 5 litres, or the model XL for bottles from 3 up to 18 litres. A set of adaptors allow for easy configuration to safely hold and pour any bottle size.

SLOW POURING
PERFECT DECANTING

Bottles placed in the MagnuMaster are tilted, to allow the wine surface area maximum exposure to the air. The precision tilting mechanism ensures that wine is allowed to breathe at an optimum level, and poured without spilling a drop. The gentle rate of pouring also allows for easy separation of the sediment, without the need to decant.

EVERYTHING CENTRES ON WINE – TWICE!

Highly refined yet easy to use. The two fulcrums allow for optimal pouring. The rotation around the first fulcrum lowers the neck of the bottle until it is horizontal, whilst the second fulcrum raises the bottom of the bottle. The elaborate mechanics mimic the natural movement of the hand to achieve important advantages: as the neck of the bottle is not lowered once the bottle is horizontal, the distance to the glass remains almost constant.  The MagnuMaster allows you to effortlessly pour the bottle with precision, using only one handed operation on the crank.

INDULGENCE AS A SHARED EXPERIENCE

Great wine is always enhanced by great friends. The MagnuMaster will emphasise the value and quality of your wine collection, and make you the centre of attention when entertaining guests. Bottles of all sizes, from 750ml to 18 litres, are easily fitted in the machine. Turning the brass crank allows you to effortlessly pour the wine with a single hand, whilst still enjoying conversation – perhaps about the wine you are serving – with your guests. The intricate mechanics and exquisite finish of the MagnuMaster also lend themselves to intrigue and discussion. Celebrate your occasion in style and convenience with your MagnuMaster.

WINE LOVERS HAVE APPRECIATED ARTISAN CRAFT FOR GENERATIONS

You may be laying down vintages that your children and grandchildren will open decades in the future. You will no longer need to worry about your heirs not being able to pour those treasured heirlooms in style – as your MagnuMaster will still be fulfilling its duty. Both MagnuMaster models are mechanical masterpieces, manifesting Peter Sturm’s artisan skills and creative passion. The finest materials and highly skilled craftsmanship guarantee perfect functionality for generations. Artisan engineering – proudly made in Austria.

Angular ball bearing

The angular ball bearing used in the MagnuMaster allows the crank to be turned with a very low friction, which removes the need for maintenance, and guarantees a long, trouble free operational life of the mechanism. These ball bearings are designed to accommodate simultaneously acting radial and axial loads.

Teflon friction bearing

The Teflon friction bearings are also maintenance free, self lubricating, shock resistant and food safe. This high tech bearing allows for near silent mechanical operation of the MagnuMaster.

Engine turned stainless steel

All engine turned parts of the MagnuMaster are made from X5CrNi18-9 austenitic stainless steel. This work hardened chrome-nickel steel offers superb corrosion resistance and will keep your MagnuMaster looking young for generations.

Powder coating

The remaining parts of the MagnuMaster are powder coated. The electrostatically applied surface coating is cured at 200 degrees Celsius giving the Magnumaster a very even surface, resistant to corrosion.

GOOD DESIGN INCORPORATES BOTH FORM & FUNCTION: THE MAGNUPORT

Unwrapping your new MugnuMaster is great – but keep the packaging. Both models are shipped in custom-built crates, the MagnuPort, made of selected wood. These protective crates also serve as a centre stage for your MagnuMaster when serving. Made with a solid oak surface and detachable caster wheels, the crate is an ideal and versatile companion for your MagnuMaster. Furthermore, the crate functions as a safe storage and transportation device, as well as a movable stand – perfect for wherever you like to enjoy your wine.

THE ARTISAN BLACKSMITH

Many years ago, Peter Sturm, blacksmith and self-confessed wine connoisseur, was irked by the design of conventional wine decanting machines and came to the conclusion that he would not be able to rest until he had constructed a machine that would be superior. He was lucky enough to have the means and skill to fulfil the task – being the 5th generation to run his family blacksmith workshop in the charming village of Weerberg in Tyrol.

Peter commenced work on his new idea with the stubbornness his compatriots are known for. After a long back and forth between the drawing board and the forge he realised his vision: the perfect decanting machine, The MagnuMaster, a mechanical work of art, refined in every detail, and a sterling implementation of impressive craftsmanship.

FROM FASHION TO FINE WINE

While visiting a demonstration of the MagnuMaster by Peter Sturm, one of the attendees was so impressed, that he wanted to be part of this project. This attendee was the former owner of the Dusseldorf based Igedo Company and marketing expert Manfred Kronen, who ran the world’s most influential women’s fashion trade show and made Dusseldorf the place to market fashion in Germany. He ordered the first commercially available MagnuMaster and has since enjoyed his fine wine in larger bottles. He also influenced the development and the design of the MagnuPort, the transportation and display device for the MagnuMaster.
